Sameth was introduced to vocal music by Gurus Sri Nanda Nayar and Smt. Lalitha Venkat, who laid a strong early foundation. At the age of ten, he began learning the violin under Guru Sri Sankaran Menon, whose guidance sparked a deep and lasting love for Carnatic music.
Sameth’s musical journey continues to be shaped by some of the most eminent musicians—he is immensely fortunate to be under the tutelage of Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Kalaimamani, Padmashri Guru Kanyakumari Avasarala for Carnatic violin. Kanyakumari Amma’s disciplined training, meticulous attention, and inspirational guidance have been instrumental in shaping Sameth’s musical journey. Under her tutelage, he has imbibed not only technical finesse but also a deep reverence for tradition and values.
Sameth is also privileged to learn vocal music from the respected musician Sri Vignesh Ishwar whose expertise and guidance have greatly contributed to broadening his understanding of Carnatic vocal techniques, improvisation, and expressive nuances.
In addition to his training in the Indian classical tradition, Sameth has been learning Western classical violin for over five years from Mr. Steven Clark in New Jersey, allowing him to develop a well-rounded and versatile musical foundation.
With the blessings of his Gurus, Sameth has accompanied over 225 concerts across the United States and India. His journey as an accompanist has brought him to stages both intimate and grand, including highly respected platforms such as the Chennai Margazhi music season, celebrated for its rich heritage and deeply appreciative audiences, and the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival, one of the largest Indian classical music festivals outside India. In each performance, Sameth strives to bring a combination of attentiveness, support, and individuality, contributing meaningfully to the overall concert experience.
Nurtured by stalwart gurus and inspired by the vibrant world of Carnatic music, Sameth continues to evolve as a performer, always seeking to refine his artistry, embrace new perspectives, and deepen his understanding of the art form. His journey is one of both discipline and discovery—anchored in tradition, yet forward-looking.
Beyond music, Sameth is a 11th grade student at the Edison High School STEM Academy in New Jersey. As he looks ahead, Sameth remains steadfast in his goal to grow as a performing artist with the unwavering support of his gurus, family, and peers, and fueled by passion, humility, and an enduring love for music.
